With the luxury of time, perhaps a lowered expectation, and some haze-inducing drugs, a kind of sublime, relaxed psychedelia can be the happy result when you see 'pure' perform 'Live' in concert.

originally Formed in 2012 as a Duo, 'pure' are a 3-piece band from auckland, new zealand who write and record their own material, creating a unique psychedelic Sonic full band sound.

'pure' are :

Steve Laffan - guitar / drums / vocals

paul lightfoot - electric guitars / vocals / production (nz)

zoe lightfoot - bass guitar (part time - eg, when she gets the time out of her busy schedule to join us)

after a six year hiatus since 2017 (busy doing other music projects),'pure' return in April 2024 with brand new material, which is noticably a step up from their earlier songwriting efforts.

the april 2024 release of the band's brand new song '(It all) depends on you' is proof of this. remixed in melbourne by talented expat Kiwi Engineer - Producer steve melville ( : 'regurgitator' / 'the tea party' / 'Birds of tokyo' / 'montana' / 'stewart and melville' ), it's crystal clear the two key band members have been learning new tricks since 2017.
